Infinity Canopy at The Sunset Plaza

The historic Sunset Plaza located on the famous Sunset Strip is one of the premier shopping and dining locations  in West Hollywood frequented by the stars, tourists and the Angelinos alike. The ownership wanted to enhance the experience for both tenants and visitors by making Sunset Plaza a place where they can spend a large chunk of their day, whether it’s shopping, eating, or just hanging out. A significant part of the design focus was how to make the space enjoyable over a longer period of time and with the LA sun, that meant providing a range of shaded seating options. Kilroy Design Department and Tangram Interiors were tasked to devise, procure and install a shade structure and furniture  this iconic location and ultimately selected Infinity Canopy for the job. 

 

The main challenge with designing the shade structure was that it didn’t weight too much and could be supported by the roof slab of the parking structure below. One of Infinity Canopy's premier dealers in Los Angeles, Awnings & Signs Unlimited, was tasked to bring this difficult and unique project to life. They fabricated an 18’ x 26’ steel structure standing only on four posts which supports four rows of Infinity Canopy 4' wide with 14 panels/billows per canopy. The Herculite fabric in Antique White creates the perfect ambiance for a relaxing space.
